Collaborative outfit VAMPS, which consists of L’Arc~en~Ciel’s HYDE and Oblivion Dust’s K.A.Z., are planning their annual Halloween event in Japan – and they’re bringing some very special guests along for the ride.
VAMPS formed back in 2008 and follows on from HYDE and K.A.Z.’s previous work together, notably on HYDE’s solo material. The first VAMPS single release was 2008’s LOVE ADDICT with their debut album arriving in 2009. The duo have toured Japan and also abroad – including dates in France, Spain and the USA back in 2010.
The outfit regularly stage a Halloween Party each year and the 2012 event sees the duo forming a supergroup titled HALLOWEEN JUNKY ORCHESTRA. And this is a particularly impressive supergroup as the lineup features: HYDE, K.A.Z., Kanon Wakeshima, Tommy February6, Tommy Heavenly6, Acid Black Cherry, DAIGO (BREAKERZ), Tatsuro (MUCC), kyo (D’ERLANGER), Anna Tsuchiya, Aoki Ryuji, Hitsugi (Nightmare), Aki (SID) and RINA (SCANDAL). A single release will also be issued in October.
It’s difficult to imagine a group featuring so many well known and successful artists, but we’re looking forward to seeing what this collaborative effort comes up with.
The live HALLOWEEN PARTY event will consist of 5 live performances scheduled for Kobe World Hall and Makuhari Messe at the end of October – and VAMPS claim this will make it the largest Halloween event in Japan!
HALLOWEEN PARTY will be aired on 1st October on TOKYO FM. HALLOWEEN JUNKY ORCHESTRA will also release a single HALLOWEEN PARTY on 17th October.
