MAMA - DIE MILCH 
Description
Die Milch are a Japanese music outfit specialising in a particular baroque pop style. As Die Milch’s founder and vocalist Coco puts it: “I love Lolita and there’s no such music that suits this fashion. So I thought I’d make some genre or music that suits this fashion. That’s the origin of Die Milch”. Amongst the influences for Die Milch are such diverse acts as Malice Mizer and violinist Emilie Autumn. The end result is stylish gothic pop tunes with a strong sense of both classical and contemporary musical touches.
Now comes new album Imperial which features the anthemic ‘Go Lolita’, the driving rhythms and aggressive strings of ‘MaMa’ and the pure music confectionery of ‘~A world without you~’.
J-Pop Go’s review stated: “Imperial demonstrates that Die Milch are keen to experiment with production ideas and musical techniques (such as on ‘~A world without you~’ and ‘Go Lolita’), but continue their strong suite of combining electronic music with classical influences. The end result is a sterling follow-up to Metronom and the emergence of Gothic Lolita as a music genre in its own right”.
