As a special pre-Hyper Japan event, rock outfit THE TOMBOYS are performing this Tuesday in London along with special guests.

Formerly known as NoName, the newly re-christened THE TOMBOYS originally laid their musical foundations as a SCANDAL cover band before embarking on their own adventures. The first results of this new direction came in the form of mini album In My Mind, which included the pop confectionary of ‘Mr Valentine’.

There’s a tight efficiency to THE TOMBOYS’ tunes which weaves together the energetic rock style of SCANDAL and the garage punk aesthetic of Shonen Knife. The rock outfit also has a playful quality to their live performances – evident in their colourful stage outfits and captivating stage presence.

THE TOMBOYS wowed audiences in the UK at a special performance earlier this year. While in the UK, the foursome have been working with ex-Sex Pistols guitarist Glen Matlock, who’s been on production duties for THE TOMBOYS’ new mini-album COME BACK TO 19.

Also joining THE TOMBOYS will be Japanese blues rock outfit Yes Men and energetic rock band Picaresque.

J-Pop Go will also be on DJ duties for this special event.
