HYPER JAPAN 2012

Hyper Japan returns…

The UK’s biggest J-Culture event returns for another action-packed weekend of all that’s cool from Japan. This time the event moves to its new home at Earl’s Court and features a fantastic line-up of events. There’s the Sake Award Show, World Cosplay Summit Ceremony, Sushi Awards 2012, Third Window Films Showcase and more!

Natsuko Aso will be bringing her own brand of J-Pop to Hyper Japan with stage events on the Friday and Saturday.

Natsuko was previously a member of the band pRythme and is best known for the themes to anime shows such as Baka to Test to Shokanju. She also starred as Chisame in the live action version of Negima! and in 2010 was also a guest at the French Japan Expo 2010.

Hyper Japan 2012 will also be hosting a whole range of cosplay events and activities, including the UK selections for both the World Cosplay Summit and the European Cosplay Gathering.

The Eat-Japan Sushi Awards return with the second ever UK Sushi Roll Championship. Featuring the opportunity to taste five unique sushi creations from some of the very best sushi chefs in the country.

Third Window Films (the UK’s leading distributor of Far Eastern cinema) are bringing some very special guests to the event. Director Satoshi Miki and actor Eri Fuse will be appearing on the Hyper Japan stage (Saturday 25, Sunday 26, 12.00 both days) to show showreel and clips from some of their movies and talk about their work in contemporary Japanese cinema. Their appearance marks the release of the Miki Satoshi Collection, which will also be on sale at Hyper Japan.

Suzuki GB will be displaying a range of their products and the recently launched new Swift Sport will be on display.

Hyper Japan will be held on Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 February 2012 at Brompton Hall at Earls Court.
