Former Morning Musume member Reina Tanaka’s new band LoVendoЯ is due to perform at the 2013 J-POP Summit Festival in San Francisco this month.
The JPopAsia news site interviewed the band ahead of their US debut. The band consists of Reina Tanaka & Marina Okadaon on vocals, and Marin Myazawa & Yuki Uozumi on guitar and their approach is more rock-orientated than Reina’s former outfit.
Reina, who graduated from Morning Musume earlier this year, was quizzed on her decision not to follow the traditional solo route after graduating: “I had more interest into being in a noisy group than just singing solo. Some staff from the label told me to give a try, because this is what I wanted to do for a long time”.
