BRATS Ainikoiyo/Nounai Shoukyo Game

BRATS return with new CD release…

Rei Kuromiya lives an interesting life, dividing her time between idol outfit The Idol Formerly Known As LADYBABY – as well as the rock outfit BRATS which she shares with sister Aya Kuromiya.

Now BRATS have a new CD on the way which combines the energetic ‘Ainikoiyo’ alongside ‘Nounai Shoukyo Game’. Originally unveiled last year, ‘Ainikoiyo’ is actually the theme song to the anime To Be Hero. Meanwhile, ‘Nounai Shoukyo Game’ (‘Brain Erase Game’) featured in the soundtrack of Japanese film Slaveman, directed by Noboru Iguchi (Machine Girl).

BRATS formed in August 2011 when Rei Kuromiya, who has been a junior idol since she was 8-years-old, became a vocalist at the age of 10. Rei’s sister Aya Kuromiya plays the bass, and Aya’s friend Hinako plays the guitar. Rei Kuromiya was chosen as Miss iD 2015 at an idol contest hosted by Koudansha in September, 2014, and her popularity increased when she joined the idol group LADYBABY alongside Rie Kaneko (Miss iD 2015 Gran Prix) and Ladybeard. BRATS released the song 14-sai byou” (“14-year old disease”) in 2015, produced by URBANGARDE’s Temma Matsunaga.

The new BRATS CD will be released in June and comes in 2 flavours: a regular version with 2 songs plus 2 instrumental tracks, and a limited edition CD+DVD package with 2 music videos and the full 6-song set of performance videos from their March 29 “Reborn” concert at Ikebukuro Live Inn Rosa, the band’s first live event in over 2 years.

BRATS welcomed the invitation-only crowd of over 200 fans to the Live Inn Rosa concert with smiles and explosive energy as they celebrated their return to live performances, with more concerts announced at HUG Rock Festival on 29th April and JAM Fes 2017 on 5th May.

Rei counts the likes of MAN WITH A MISSION and Maximum the Hormone as favourite bands, which has probably surprised a lot of people who have known her as being part of LADYBABY. But as BRATS proves, she’s keen to pave her own way in the world of music. Tunes such as ‘Nounai Shoukyo Game’ show that BRATS are certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Ainikoiyo/Nounai Shoukyo Game is released on 21st June 2017.
