J-Pop Go will be providing music for the forthcoming London Expo. Following on from the success of last year's event, this year's Expo continues to be a celebration of a variety of pop culture interests including film and TV. The Expo will see special guest stars, displays and a dealer's section. The event will also house a special Anime Village featuring a Cosplay Masquerade and exclusive big screen presentations. The Expo runs on the weekend of 29th/30th October.

The Expo is also going to be staging a party on Saturday 29th October at which J-Pop Go will be providing some of the music for the night. The plan is to have a dedicated J-Pop room for the party where you can bop away to your favourite J-Pop and J-Rock tunes throughout the night. Please note that this will be a ticketed event and you will only be able to buy tickets directly from the London Expo. Tickets will also be limited.

More info is available here: www.londonexpo.com.

The event will also stage screenings and displays.

The Venue page has been updated with details of more places to stay (including website links, phone details etc). If you find travel back home difficult on the night, then you have the option of staying over at local hotels, bed & breakfast's or hostels.

Many of these places are also reasonably priced despite being based in London. So if you'd like to attend J-Pop Go and you're outside of London, then do have a think about these options.

TICKETS

TRAVEL ISSUES
As you'll be aware, London was affected last week by a series of incidents which caused the London Underground to be shut down. Things are gradually returning to normal with the underground running again, albeit with some stations and lines either out of action or suffering from delays.

If you're coming down to J-Pop Go on Wednesday we ask you to bear this in mind and suggest arriving a little earlier than planned to allow for any potential tube delays.

J-POP GO MAGAZINE
Issue 2 of the J-Pop Go magazine is still in production and won't be ready in time for the next event. We'll keep you posted as it goes to print, but if you've subscribed then issue 2 will be winging its way to you in the post in due course.

12th June 2005

There's going to be some changes for the next J-Pop Go event in terms of how we handle ticket sales.

Rather than having a single choice of a combined Ticket/Magazine option, we're looking at selling standalone tickets for the event itself.

At the same time, we'll be opening up the options for buying the J-Pop Magazine separately in the form of a multi-issue subscription.

The reasons for doing this are to allow cheaper entry for those people who perhaps don't want the magazine and at the same time allow those people who can't attend an opportunity to read the magazine by itself.

More details to follow soon!

1st June 2005

Welcome to the new look J-Pop Go website! Ahead of the next event, we've decided to give the site a new lick of paint.

We've also got some updates - there's new photos from the first J-Pop Go event in our Gallery section. There's also a new Poll looking at the work of Tomoko Kawase (aka Tommy February 6).

21st May 2005

Are you ready for another J-Pop Go? We've got a provisional date set for Wednesday 13th July for the next event which will also see some changes and hopefully a few surprises. More info to follow soon!

11th May 2005

The first J-Pop Go event has been and gone and judging by the opinions of those that attended it's been an all-round success! We also had a pleasant surprise in the guise of Mika from Mika Bomb who was happy to pose for some photos. The event was given extra colour by the addition of some superb artwork by Terratag as well.

We've got some images in our online Gallery from the event itself and also two pics taken from the May London Anime Club meet where the two Emilys did a superb job of promoting the event in all their kimono-clad brilliance.

Daniel and Matt did a superb job on the decks and presented a wide range of tunes that kept everyone very happy indeed. So well done to the DJ's for their efforts on the night.

Thanks to Hugh David at ADV and to Charlie at Crazy Ninja for sponsoring J-Pop Go. Thanks also to Fluid for allowing us the opportunity to stage the event at the venue.

Special thanks to Emily who not only contributed to the J-Pop Go magazine but did a brilliant job of helping promote the event. She was also doing a great job of helping out on the night as well. ^_^

We received a lot of feedback from various people both on the night and subsequently by email. As well as giving the event the thumbs up, some people offered some very useful constructive points so thanks to everyone that commented on the event.

Will there be another J-Pop Go? Time will tell...... ;-)
