Shonen Knife

Having listed Kurt Cobain and Thurston Moore as fans over the years, it's clear that Shonen Knife are no Girls Aloud, but they could never be called pretentious. Pitched somewhere between the Ramones and the Shangri-Las, they create memorable, fun music for the DIY indie kids.

28 years into their career, they show no sign of slowing down - get along to one of these shows and catch a band you'll never forget.

Boredoms performing Boadrum:

When avant-rock legends Boredoms first came up with the Boadrum concept and performed it, with 77 drummers on 7/7/2007, we all stood up and took notice - partly because of how ridiculous it seemed, but mostly because everyone that heard it said it was pretty much the best thing ever. A year, a month, and a day later (8/8/2008) they did it again, this time with 88 drummers in two different locations across the US.

This May, UK audiences (at both the Matt Groening ATP and the HMV Forum) will get their first chance to witness this amazing spectacle... anyone want to start a book on how many drummers they'll have with them this time?
