I'm waiting on more HOLiC and Yotsuba to turn up. I also want the HOLiC anime as well when that graces the UK.

There's also a new anime-esque magazine out called Piq which I'd recommend. Especially as it features an article exploring the theme of the Death of Anime. It's also very nicely designed (they've obviously cribbing good ideas from the likes of Edge) and also features anime commentary from (gasp!) people who know their subject.

I've just started on Gothic Sports* which is all about a gang of misfits denied a place in any of their school teams - so they form their own. If you like Gothic Lolita Football Manga then this is the Gothic Lolita Football Manga for you. :P

The art is great and the story is engaging enough to make it tough to put down. The real surprise comes when you discover that the creator Anike Hage is actually German and the story is meant to take place in Germany. Alles fuer mich?

I give it 4 Gothic Lolitas out of 5. 8)

At long last I've finally seen My Neighbour Totoro as I work my way slowly through the Studio Ghibli collection.

It's not too difficult to work out why it's considered such a classic. It's going to be tough working out my top 3 favourite Ghibli films at this rate.

BTW The American remake is on the way - expect to catch My Neighbour John Tuturro early next year.

It's disturbing because Haruhi is smiling and very calm :?

Also, how big is the trowel they use to lay on the fan service in that series?

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya . Everyone remain perfectly still while the Daily Mail confiscates your copies of the series.

I've done a speedy re-read of Cromartie High School ahead of catching up on new volumes. It's still stupid, pointless, idiotic and wonderful. I really have to give the anime version a watch too (this is the one that Neo reviewed and took to task because of the poor artwork. I guess they have Cromartie students working there... ).

Lol, the fanservice is pretty heavy. I still need to read vols 10-12 of Cromartie, I really should get around to that...
