AKB48 feature in today’s Metro

AKB48 are the focus of an article in today’s Metro newspaper.

The recent stabbing incident at an AKB48 handshake event appears to have brought the idol group back under the scrutiny of the Western press. J-Pop Go’s Paul Browne was approached to provide some commentary on Akihabara’s finest for the Metro feature that appeared in today’s edition. The article explains a little about idol culture in Japan and shows the contrast between Western outfits such as One Direction and AKB48.

The Metro is a free newspaper that shifts 1.4 million copies across 50 UK urban centres every weekday morning and boasts over 3.3 million daily readers.
